Portishead / Goldfrapp Team Up To work on new soundtrack
Members of Portishead and Goldfrapp are to team up in order to work on a new score for a French silent film.
Portishead have always had a cinematic element to their music. Using soundtracks as a rich source of samples their lush, widescreen sound became hugely influential as trip hop dominated the 90s.
Now members of the band are to team up with Goldfrapp to work on a complete film score. Adrian Utley (Portishead) and Will Gregory (Goldfrapp) are set to craft new music for a classic French silent film.
The Flaming Lips Announce Physical Release of 'THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON'
Oklahoma psych-pop mavericksannounced that the physical release of “The Flaming Lips, along with Stardeath and White Dwarfs with Henry Rollins and Peaches doing ‘THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON’” will be available for sale on Limited Edition vinyl beginning April 17th 2010, National Record Store Day. The CD version will go on sale on May 4.

The Joy formidable New single and tour on sale now
The Joy Formidable's new single, Popinjay, is available to download from iTunes and other digital services now. An extremely limited 7" will be available from April 5th from your favourite independent record stores. You can hear the track, see the video, and find the purchase links on their myspace.
About the tour, they'll get back on the road for their headlining tour next month; they're supported by their friends Baddies on all the dates, with Bleech and Airship also joining them at selected shows. They will also have special guests Deadkids for the show at London's Electric Ballroom. Tickets are available from Music Glue.

Taking time off to work on new material, the Oxford titans recently confirmed details of their second album.

Keane announces May 11 release date of new Album
Following the worldwide success of their first three albums, the members of Keane announce today the release date of Night Train to be released on Cherrytree/Interscope Records in the U.S. on May 11. The band who has had three consecutive #1 albums in their native UK and have played sold out shows throughout the US will also soon announce tour dates in North America for this coming Spring.
Night Train features eight powerful new tracks which were written and recorded during the band's Perfect Symmetry world tour that saw them playing to packed arenas in 28 countries.
The album takes its title from the band's favorite mode of transportation during the tour, and includes Keane's genre-busting collaborations with Somali/Canadian rapper K'Naan, 'Stop For A Minute' and 'Looking Back'. Keane site
The Stranglers - Retro Rockets
The Stranglers have prepared two new songs for the potential single release. The first track is the Leamington-debuted "Retro Rockets" and the second is "I Don’t See the World Like You Do".
After deliberation "Retro Rockets" has been chosen as the download only single. Both tracks should now be included on the forthcoming 'Decades Apart' compilation as well. The release dates through EMI, for the single and album are tentatively February, 22 and March, 1 2010 respectively although these dates may change.
Bonfires next gig will be supporting Liverpool rockers SOUND OF GUNS at The Sugarmill, Stoke on Monday 15th March.

UNKLE Wonder “Where Did the Night Fall” on New Album
UNKLE announced the release of new full-lenght album Where Did The Night Fall on May 10 in the UK and Europe, 11th May in North America. The album includes a host of collaborations, including Sleepy Sun, The Black Angels, Autolux, The Celebration's Katrina Ford, South's Joel Cadbury, and Mark Lanegan.

Thom Yorke to Sing on Flying Lotus’ ‘Cosmogramma’
LP Details Revealed
Los Angeles electronic beatsmith Flying Lotus (given name: Steve Ellison) is preparing his "fusion-y" Cosmogramma for release through Warp. It will drop in the U.S. on May 4 and a day earlier in the U.K. And now comes word that none other than Thom Yorke will lend his vox to the project. Yeah, that right: Radiohead's Thom Yorke.
Yorke sings on a song called "...And the World Laughs With You." Other guests include singer Laura Darlington, who sang on FlyLo's Los Angeles, and post-bop jazz saxophonist Ravi Coltrane (his cousin).
Goldfrapp Releasing New Album 'Head First' in March 2010
Goldfrappis releasing a new album, titled Head First, which was entirely written and produced by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory.
The record will be previewed by the single titled “Rocket” on March 9, the single is everything 80’s. The synth-driven mid-tempo pop song delivers a polished and catchy tune that will get stuck in your heads. It will make you want to get out your brightest and shiniest outfits and jump on the dancefloor.

Arctic Monkeys Releasing New Single
'My Propeller' out next month
Arctic Monkeys have announced that they will release a new single next month. 'My Propeller', which is the third single to be taken from their latest album Humbug, will be released on March 22.
The record will feature three new Arctic Monkeys songs - 'Joining The Dots', 'The Afternoon’s Hat' and 'Don’t Forget Whose Legs You’re On' - and will be available exclusively through Oxfam's UK network of shops. Read More
